  • Chapter 11: Audiovisual Technologies
For both audio and visual technologies, identify one traditional and one emerging technology from the book, and explain how you could potentially use all four devices in the classroom. Post your responses on your blog page you created for this class.
Helpful Hints
- You do not need to use all four at once within the classroom. Just say how you could possibly use all four.
- Make sure to proof your posts for correct spelling and grammar. You will lose points for pervasive errors.
- Have fun and be creative with the possible ways you could use these different technologies!!

  1. Chapter 6: Digital Technologies in the Classroom.

I would rather teach in a classroom that had more technologies. This gives the children more opportunities to learn about the class material. According to Duffy and McDonald, it is easier to use technology in the class room when making lesson plans (145). There are many different items that can be used in the classroom. For example, smart boards, scanners, and digital cameras can all be used to advance the learning process. These technologies can be helpful when making copies, presentations, and creating memories from each project. This makes a teachers job easier when creating valuable lesson plans.

    Chapter 11: Audiovisual Technologies

An audio media that is traditional is the digital audio media. This is used in the classroom to replay tracks on a CD or DVD. These disk can be clearer that auido tapes and they have a better storage format. I could use this in the classroom to have the children listen to books on tape. This will help them follow along with the material and have a better understanding. A newer technology is internet radio. this is radio or talk shows that can be streamed live through the internet. This can be very beneficial in the classroom because studies have shown that children tend to work better when certain genres are played. For example, classical music is soothing and helps students work better with math subjects. Other more popular music could also be used to help the students creativity when working in art class.

A traditional visual technology is an over head projector. This type of resource uses overheads, which are clear clastic sheets that can be reused and written on. Children could use this in the classroom is they wanted to copy down the weeks schedule. It is easy to see and takes less copys to get the information to the class. A newer technology is digital projectors. This is used with large groups and it projected onto a very large screen. I could use this in the classroom by playing documentaries and other educational films.
